Acacia Anglin, Veterinary Assistant
I grew up in Southeast Alaska and spent my childhood outdoors in a small island community. My brother and I shared responsibility for rodents, lizards, cats, fish, and dogs as pets, and often were seen exploring the town with a leashed rat in our bicycle baskets. I started working in the veterinary field in 2011, where I worked with anything from domestic animals to wildlife such as bald eagles and black bears. The use of technical medical skills and application of science is what drew me to the field and earned my veterinary technician associates degree from Penn Foster. When I married my husband, who works in the United States Coast Guard, it gave me the opportunity to experience a variety of communities within Alaska and Washington. Moving around has allowed me to work with a range of skilled veterinarians and clients who are passionate about their animals, along with adding dog training and shelter work to my career path. I took a brief break from working in clinics during a recent move and have just returned to working as a veterinary assistant in 2025 at Companion Animal Wellness Center. In my free time my husband and I like to adventure in our camper van to explore the local areas we are in. I also enjoy drawing and painting, learning musical instruments, rock hounding, and baking. I work with my dogs in nose work, therapy work, and trick training.
